BOGO Gift Card Giveaway Program Benefits Frisco Rail District

(November 3, 2025) A new digital gift card program, launching at 10 a.m. on November 4, will benefit Frisco Rail District businesses while doubling a card buyer's benefit (investment). It's a 'Buy One, Get One' (BOGO) Bonus Card offer when residents purchase a Gift Card, ranging in value from $25 to $250. The Frisco Community Development Corporation (FCDC) is underwriting the 'matching' dollars for the BOGO digital program, while funding lasts.

"The Frisco Community Development Corporation is proud to invest local sales tax dollars back into the community through programs that directly benefit our small businesses," said Chad Brubaker, Chairman, FCDC. "By moving the Rail District gift card program to a digital format, we're expanding access for residents across the city and giving our merchants new tools to connect with customers through the BOGO initiative."

Here's how it works (for example):

  • A person buys a $25 gift card
    1. Follow this link to purchase a Gift Card
  • Buyer also receives a $25 Bonus Card
  • Buyer has a total $50 to spend at participating Rail District businesses (Gift card + Bonus card)
  • The $50 is distributed in two separate cards, each with a different expiration date
    1. Gift card purchased never expires
    2. Bonus Card expires January 31, 2026
  • FCDC will cover gift card fees
  • Merchants / Rail District businesses will cover own processing fees

The FCDC allocated $500 thousand dollars to support Rail District businesses -- $200 thousand dollars provides advertising grants to Rail District businesses and $300 thousand dollars supports Gift Card programs. Phase I of the gift card giveaway program resulted in $170,700 worth of cards being redeemed
($50 x 3,414 cards). To date, Phase II of the program equals $2,850 in redeemed cards ($50 x 57). As a result, $173,550 worth of cards have been redeemed, to date.

"Our goal is to drive renewed traffic and energy into the Rail District, supporting business owners who have weathered significant construction impacts over the past 18 months," said Brubaker. "This new format also empowers businesses to promote the program directly to their own customer base through social media, amplifying its reach and impact."

Reconstruction of Main Street through the historic Rail District began in July 2024 and will be substantially complete by the end of 2025. Learn more about the Downtown Redevelopment Project at FriscoTexas.gov/Downtown.
