Do you have a passion for the environment and Bellevue parks? Bellevue Naturalists lead hikes and canoe trips, help lead forest restoration events and maintain restoration sites. You could train to be one.
Applications are being accepted for a free Bellevue Naturalist training program, designed to develop a group of dedicated community volunteers trained in environmental awareness and stewardship.
Ideal candidates will have an enthusiasm for learning and a passion for the outdoors. Bellevue residents will have priority for selection, but residents of other cities will be considered if space allows.
In-person trainings will be Feb. 5 to April 23, 2026, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8 p.m., and at Saturday field trips. After training, volunteers commit to 100 hours of service to the Parks & Community Services Department's Natural Resources division.
To apply, complete and submit an online application packet available at Bellevue Naturalist by Nov. 30.
