Halifax Regional Police responded to 733 calls for service over the weekend. Some notable incidents are as follows:
Police charge man for assault and weapons offences
On April 18 at approximately 1:20 p.m., police responded to a weapons complaint in the 500 block of Washmill Lake Road in Halifax. It was reported that a man entered an apartment building and pulled the fire alarm. It was further reported that the man may have stabbed someone.
Officers arrived and located the victim, who reported that a man threatened him with a knife while attempting to gain entry to his apartment. The victim sustained minor injuries; however, he was not stabbed.
The suspect was located in the apartment belonging to the victim. The suspect was combative and resisted arrest resulting in a conductive energy weapon (CEW/Taser) being deployed. Once arrested, he was transported to the hospital by Emergency Health Services for assessment.

Police investigate stabbing
On April 19 at approximately 12:10 a.m., police responded to the 6700 block of Chisholm Avenue in Halifax for a report of a stabbing. Officers arrived and located a 16-year-old youth suffering from a stab wound.
It was reported that the victim was in a residence with friends when a rock was thrown through the window. The group went outside to see who threw the rock and encountered another group of youth dressed in black and wearing masks. The group with masks then sprayed a sensory irritant and the victim was stabbed.
The victim was transported to the hospital by EHS with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
There have been no arrests. The investigation is ongoing.
