Built-in point cloud registration, with Zone Expert Plus, allows users to process and align laser scan data directly within the software, removing the need for additional tools and helping streamline workflows form capture through to analysis.
Integrated photogrammetry, powered by FotoPoints, enables users to convert images and videos from drones, smartphones, and cameras into detailed 3D point cloud within the same environment. This reduces reliance on third-party software and supports more efficient turnaround times.
The platform enables the creation of 2D and 3D diagrams, along with advanced visualizations such as animations and fly throughs, allowing investigators to communicate complex scenarios clearly, particularly in legal settings where accuracy and clarity are essential.
In addition, Zone2Go functionality allows users to share complete 3D scenes via portable media, making it easier for stakeholders to review and interact with case data without requiring specialized software.
Connecting Scene Capture to Analysis
Zone 3D is part of a broader reality capture ecosystem, which includes hardware and software solutions designed to support the full investigation process. This wider portfolio includes Focus, a highly accurate terrestrial laser scanner designed to capture the scene in great detail through highly dense point clouds. The Orbis Premium, a mobile laser scanner, which was developed to prioritize speed of capture and ease of use, and still delivers accurate visuals, dense point clouds, and accurate data.
More recently, FARO INSIGHT introduced the Blink to its portfolio, an imaging laser scanner created to capture very clear images with clean and clear point cloud data overlaid for accurate measurements. The budget-friendly solution was also designed to require minimal training to operate, making it an easy solution to put into the field from day one.
