G7 Industry, Digital and Technology


On 8-9 December 2025, the EU Delegation to Canada accompanied Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President (EVP) for Technological Sovereignty, Security and Democracy , at the G7 Ministerial Meeting on Industry, Digital and Technology in Montreal.

Hosted by Minister of Industry Mélanie Joly and Minister of AI and Digital Innovation Evan Solomon, G7 partners advanced collaboration in five key areas: Industrial competitiveness, AI, Critical and emerging technologies, Competitive and resilient digital economies, Supply chain security.

Both the EU and Canada reaffirmed their commitment to shaping a trusted, inclusive and innovative digital future. This shared ambition underscores our common values and dedication to ensuring that the digital transformation delivers prosperity, safeguards fundamental rights, and strengthens our technological leadership on the global stage.
