Heads of Parliaments of CIS Countries Expressed Condolences over Crash of Azerbaijani Passenger Airliner

A day of mourning has been declared in Azerbaijan on 26 December in connection with the crash of passenger plane Embraer 190. The airliner was en route Baku-Grozny and crashed in Kazakhstan's Aktau on 25 December.

Condolences in connection with the tragic loss of life in the airplane crash were expressed by Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Chairperson of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Valentina Matvienko.

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wished speedy recovery to the injured.

Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova expressed deep condolences to Sahiba Gafarova and Valentina Matvienko.

Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeenko also expressed condolences over the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane.

Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayevwished a speedy recovery to the victims.

Speaker of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Koshanov expressed condolences in connection with the crash of the airplane.

Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev sent telegrams of condolence to the heads of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia.

Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin expressed deep condolences to Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova in connection with the crash of a passenger plane.

Speaker of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Rustami Emomali expressed deep sorrow in connection with the sad news about the numerous victims of the plane crash.

Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva sent a letter of condolences to the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Secretary General of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy, plenipotentiary representatives of all IPA CIS member parliaments expressed condolences to Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, the people of Azerbaijan, relatives and friends of the victims.

The flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan was lowered in front of the IPA CIS headquarters - the Tavricheskiy Palace - as a sign of mourning.
