Illegal Alien Indicted in D.C. for Fentanyl and Cocaine Trafficking

WASHINGTON - A two-count Indictment was unsealed yesterday in U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia charging Moussa Konte, 32, a Senegalese citizen, with unlawful possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl and unlawful possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, announced U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

"This defendant, Moussa Konte, who was in this country illegally, turned a one-bedroom apartment into a drug warehouse stocked with fentanyl, cocaine, cash, money counters and ammo, creating a direct threat to public safety," said U.S. Attorney Pirro. "He is now in custody. This case demonstrates how traffickers can operate quietly and boldly in our own neighborhoods. But they need to understand this: the District is not open for their business. We will find them, shut them down, and take their profits off the table."

Konte, a resident of the District, was ordered to be detained following a hearing today before Magistrate Judge Matthew J. Sharbaugh.

According to a previously filed criminal complaint, Konte participated in a FaceTime call on June 23 during which he displayed kilogram-sized quantities of suspected narcotics.

On August 25, 2026, about 6 a.m., law enforcement executed a search warrant at Konte's one bedroom apartment and recovered three bags of blue pills stamped with "M30" weighing 739.37 grams suspected of containing fentanyl, a heat-sealed bag containing a pressed brick of white powder weighing 513.57 grams suspected of containing cocaine, and two plastic baggies containing pressed and loose white powder weighing about 420.65 grams suspected of containing cocaine. Konte subsequently was arrested.

Other items seized from Konte's apartment included:

• Approximately three pounds of marijuana.

• A vacuum sealer.

• A digital scale covered in white powder residue.

• Approximately $8,000 cash.

• A money counter.

• A kilogram press used to pack powdered substances

• Two handgun magazines, one of which was extended.

• 16 rounds of ammunition.

This case is being investigated by the FBI Washington Field Office, the Montgomery County Police Department, with valuable assistance from the United States Customs and Border Patrol.

This investigation is part of the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) initiative established by Executive Order 14159, Protecting the American People Against Invasion.
