MINOT, N.D. - Minot State University is pleased to welcome master printmaker, educator, and INT'L Paperworks 2026 juror Dave DiMarchi as a Flat Tail Press Visiting Artist. During his visit, DiMarchi will collaborate with students and faculty to create a new print edition with Flat Tail Press, present a public lecture, and participate in activities related to the INT'L Paperworks exhibition.
DiMarchi is a queer, multi-disciplinary artist working in printmaking, papermaking, and sculptural book forms and has exhibited works in the United States and internationally. For nearly 16 years, he has created artwork, curated exhibitions, provided print exchange opportunities, and published fine art prints as 9INHANDPRESS. He maintains a collaborative studio and art space, the Judith K. Brodsky Printmaking Studio, at the Arts Council of Princeton. In 2022, he was selected as the Arts Council of Princeton's Anne Reeves Artist-in-Residence and serves as the studios manager, master printer, and lead printmaking instructor, while also leading the Printmaking Curriculum at Mercer County College.
Visiting the Minot State campus March 17-21, DiMarchi will collaborate with Flat Tail Press and work alongside MSU students and faculty to create an edition of experimental prints utilizing intaglio and screenprinting methods. This process will be open to visitors to observe in the Hartnett Hall Printmaking Studio Room 243, offering an opportunity to witness the creation of new work and engage with the artist's process.
A public reception and online viewing of "INT'L Paperworks 2026" with the juror will be held on Friday, March 20, from 6:30-8 p.m. DiMarchi will be giving a juror's talk at 7 p.m. with an awards presentation to follow. In its 54th year, INT'L Paperworks 2026, features a selection of contemporary works from around the world.
Prior to the reception, DiMarchi will also be presenting in the Art Seminar Series Friday, March 20 at 12 p.m. Held in Hartnett Hall Lecture and Recital Hall 106, Art Seminar presentations offer students and the public the opportunity to learn about the work, lives and experiences of guest artists visiting the University. The lecture is open to public audiences and streamed live to the Northwest Arts Center social media channels.
While at the Northwest Arts Center, INT'L Paperworks 2026 will be on display Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 1-5 p.m. until Thursday, March 26, 2026. The Walter Piehl Gallery is located on the lower level of the Gordon B. Olson Library at Minot State University, with its own entrance on the south side of the library. The exhibition and related events are free and open to the public.
The Northwest Arts Center is supported in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
