Niagara University is proud to announce the introduction of a new women's flag football program as part of the institution's continued commitment to club sports and holistic student development.
Set to launch in the fall of 2025, the inaugural flag football season will see competition against local schools during both the fall and spring semesters.
"Niagara University is thrilled to introduce women's flag football as our newest club sport, expanding opportunities for student engagement and athletic participation on our campus," said Christopher Sheffield, vice president for student affairs. "This addition aligns with the growing momentum of women's flag football, fueled by the NFL's commitment to its development and the sport's historic inclusion in the 2028 Summer Olympics.
"By offering this program, we are not only enhancing the student experience, but also positioning Niagara as a leader in supporting emerging sports that empower student-athletes. We look forward to seeing our students embrace this exciting opportunity and contribute to the future of women's flag football."
The launch of women's flag football provides students with another opportunity to get involved on campus and aligns with the university's commitment to creating a transformational living-learning experience that impacts students academically, athletically, spiritually, and socially.
