Chairman Arrington Statement on Kevin Warsh Confirmation as Fed Chair

WASHINGTON, D.C.-Today, the Senate voted to confirm Kevin Warsh as the chair of the Federal Reserve. House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (R-Texas) released the following statement:

"Big economic challenges require the most serious and experienced leadership at the Federal Reserve. Kevin Warsh is the right man for the job. Kevin is a longtime friend and former White House colleague-one of the smartest and most talented people with whom I served. He is a conservative economist, financial markets expert, and respected authority on fiscal, monetary, and economic policy-and, above all, a strong leader with deep convictions for free people, free markets, and fiscal responsibility.

"Kevin has been unambiguous: inflation is a choice. I trust him to deliver stable prices for the hardworking Americans who feel the effects of every price increase. He has questioned the Fed's recent failures, criticized its overreach, and rightfully admonished its complicity in the explosion of our national debt. He is committed to eliminating mission creep at the Fed-keeping it focused on its dual mandate of delivering for the American people.

"Kevin has dedicated his career to serving our great country and advancing the principles that made America the most powerful and prosperous nation in human history."
