SAE International has been recognized by the Mobile Air Climate Systems Association (MACS) with their "Pioneer Award." The MACS Pioneer Award celebrates individuals and organizations that have made remarkable contributions to advancing the mobile A/C and heat transfer industry. The award recognized SAE as a critical partner to both MACS and the Vehicle Thermal Management community for decades. From the early days of MACS and the transition away from CFC's to the adoption of R-1234yf and looking forward to the next generation of system designs and fluids, SAE, through their Interior Climate Control Standards Committee and Cooperative Research Programs, have brought together OEM's, Teir 1's, the aftermarket, and many others to create standards for the auto industry.
