Pharmacy leadership society earns National Chapter of the Year

May 4, 2026

The Alpha Zeta Chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) at the Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences has been recognized on a national level as the 2024-2025 Division I Chapter of the Year, an honor that highlights the strength, dedication, and leadership of its student members.

The award recognizes chapters with a smaller membership that demonstrate exceptional engagement, innovation, and commitment to advancing leadership within the pharmacy profession. The recognition reflects the collective efforts of the chapter's executive board and its members, who contributed ideas, initiatives and service throughout the academic year.

Because the award evaluates a full academic year of programming, it is presented after the conclusion of that year. Chapters submit documentation of their activities and impact, which is then reviewed by the national organization before recipients are selected and announced.

"I am so thankful that our chapter had the opportunity to be recognized on a national level," said Gabrielle "Gabby" Gillett, Doctor of Pharmacy candidate in the class of 2026 and chapter president during the award year. "This achievement represents the hard work and dedication of not only our executive board, but the entire CPHS PLS membership body. This would not have been possible without all of our amazing members stepping up with new ideas, and I am so excited to see our chapter continue to grow."

Faculty and student leaders across the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences praised the accomplishment, noting the strong culture of collaboration and leadership development that defines the organization. The recognition serves as a testament to the impact students can make when they are empowered to lead and innovate.

The chapter continues to build on this momentum under the leadership of current president Ni Penn-Henry, a Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Public Health candidate in the class of 2027, who also serves as Phi Lambda Sigma Awards Committee Vice Chair.

With a continued focus on leadership, service, and professional growth, the Alpha Zeta Chapter is poised to sustain its national presence and further strengthen its role in developing the next generation of pharmacy leaders.
