The driver of a Honda Civic killed in Thursday's 6:50 p.m. crash on I-24 East near Whites Creek Pike has been identified as Juan Marin-Ramirez, 29. The preliminary investigation indicates a BMW 550 had slowed its speed due to entering traffic when it was rear-ended by the Honda, which was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed.
There were no indications of impairment on part of either driver at the scene.
The 28-year-old driver of the BMW was transported to Skyline Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Marin-Ramirez was also transported to Skyline where he died.
