On 13 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs met with H.E. Mr. Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation at the House of Government, Moscow, the Russian Federation.

Both sides discussed increasing Thailand - Russia cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, energy. They also discussed enhancing trade facilitation and expediting the process to commence the Thai - EAEU FTA negotiations to enhance economic potential and competitiveness of both countries.

Both sides also exchange views on strengthening cooperation in the economic multilateral framework such as BRICS that Thailand is a partner country.

Russia is Thailand's 36th trading partner and Thailand's largest trading parter in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
