The appearance marks the third WNIT berth in program history for Monmouth, which previously participated in the postseason event in 2011 and 2024. The Hawks recorded their first WNIT victory two seasons ago, earning a 68-58 road win at Buffalo in the 2024 First Round. This year's bid represents the first WNIT appearance for Head Coach since taking over the program, as well as the first ever WNIT game hosted at the OceanFirst Bank Center.
Monmouth enters the matchup having made three postseason appearances in the last four seasons, continuing a strong stretch of success. The Hawks hold a 6-5 edge in the all-time series against Lehigh, though the teams have not met since the 2018-19 season.
