GENTEXT/REMARKS/ 1. PURPOSE. This MARADMIN announces an immediate
administrative update to reference (a). Specifically, the removal
of paragraph 11., Eligibility for Extension. The authority to
grant service extensions to Marines undergoing involuntary
administrative separation processing under the purview of
reference (a) is rescinded.
2. BACKGROUND. Reference (a) established procedures for
identifying and processing Marines for involuntary separation.
To ensure efficient administrative throughput, service extensions
will no longer be used to delay or prolong the administrative
separation process.
3. ACTION
3.a. Effective immediately, command elements shall not submit,
endorse, or approve requests for extensions of service (to include
NAVMC Form 10274) for the purpose of allowing administrative
separation processing under reference (a).
3.b. Marines currently being processed for involuntary
administrative separation under reference (a) who reach their
Expiration of Active Service (EAS) prior to the completion of
separation proceedings will be separated on their scheduled EAS.
4. PROACTIVE SUPPORT. Commanders will continue to support impacted
Marines during the separation process by advising them of available
mental health, financial, and separation resources while maintaining
positive engagement.
5. RESOURCES. Commanders and leaders are reminded that resources
remain available to support transitioning personnel. Military
OneSource is accessible 24/7 at 1-800-342-9647 or via
