Rep. Nancy Mace Secures Over $400 Million In Federal Grant Funding For South Carolina's Lowcountry

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Jan. 26, 2026) - Representative Nancy Mace today announced her office has successfully secured over $400 million in federal grant funding for South Carolina's Lowcountry since 2024, with $174 million secured in 2025 alone despite a federal grant freeze and ongoing reforms.

In 2024, Rep. Mace's office delivered $227.8 million in federal funding to the First District, including the largest South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) grant in state history totaling $195 million. In 2024, her office supported 8 awarded applicants and wrote 55 letters of support.

In 2025, despite significant federal budget constraints, Rep. Mace's office secured $174 million for 19 awarded applicants while writing 65 letters of support, demonstrating increased efficiency and results even in a challenging funding environment.

"From infrastructure to domestic violence support, our office works hard for every single dollar of federal funding we can bring home to South Carolina," said Congresswoman Mace."We deliver the urgency South Carolina deserves: turning around grant letters of support within 24 hours, conducting grant research, meeting with constituents on their projects, publishing a grants newsletter, and inquiring with federal agencies about application requirements. South Carolina's tax dollars matter just as much as New York's, California's, or any other state's."

The secured funding supports initiatives across four key priority areas:

Critical Infrastructure:Investments in roads, bridges, water systems, and other essential infrastructure to support the region's growth and resilience, including the historic $195 million SCDOT grant.

Law Enforcement Resources:Equipment, training, and technology to ensure local police departments have the tools they need to keep Lowcountry communities safe.

Educational Opportunities:Expanded programs and resources for students across South Carolina, preparing the next generation for success.

Domestic Violence Support:Funding for women's shelters and support services that protect and empower survivors of domestic violence.

"These grants represent more than just dollars, they represent safer streets, better schools, stronger communities, and hope for those who need it most," Rep. Mace continued."Over $400 million in two years shows what happens when you have an elected official who refuses to give up and champions for South Carolina every single day."

Rep. Mace's office remains committed to assisting constituents and local organizations in navigating the federal grant process and securing resources for South Carolina.
