Let’s Keep the Party Going! Celebrate Colorado the Whole Month of August

STATEWIDE - This month, Governor Polis encourages all Coloradans to take advantage of Celebrate Colorado fun community events, festivals, and local deals in honor of Colorado's 150th birthday.

"Colorado's story is best told when we come together as neighbors and communities. This August, I'm encouraging every Coloradan to celebrate what makes our state so extraordinary: our mountains, our communities, and our shared history. Whether you're on the Western Slope or the Front Range, there's a Colorado 150 event near you that's worth showing up for," said Governor Polis.

Upcoming events include:

  • Boulder: On August 21, discover Boulder's vibrant street art scene on the Wheels and Walls - Friday Evening Mural Cruise in East Boulder with Street Wise Arts. This guided ride explores a collection of murals created by talented local and national artists during our annual mural festival. Use promo code Colorado150 for 15% off tickets.
  • Centennial: End the month-long festivities on August 30 with a Colorado 150: Celebration of the Centennial State at Cherry Knolls Park. Gather with friends, family and neighbors for an evening of live music, interactive activities, and family-friendly fun. Then look to the skies as the celebration concludes with a spectacular drone show honoring Colorado's 150th Birthday. Presented by Arapahoe Libraries.
  • Colorado Springs: The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum presents the 2026 "We The People: Colorado at 150" lecture series. To honor the America 250/Colorado 150 commemorations, this series will explore the diverse experiences and voices of Coloradans. Celebrate history with The Westerners: Mythmaking and Belonging on the American Frontier hosted by Historian Megan Kate Nelson on August 29.
  • Elizabeth: The Town of Elizabeth's Backyard BBQ Tasting Experience comes to Running Creek Park on August 29. In celebration of America's 250th birthday and Colorado's 150th anniversary, Elizabeth is bringing the community together for an afternoon of smoky flavors, hometown pride, and community celebration.
  • Idaho Springs: Join the Charge Across Colorado - OMG Gold Rush Grind on August 15 at 8:30 a.m. for a one-of-a-kind e-bike experience that blends mountain scenery, mining history, and serious fun. This fully supported ride takes you through the rugged beauty of Clear Creek Canyon and into the hills that helped spark Colorado's gold rush. Designed to be challenging but accessible with the help of e-bikes, this ride welcomes adventurous spirits ready to explore Colorado's historic high country in a whole new way.
  • Palisade: The Palisade Peach Festival on August 21-22 is a vibrant celebration of Palisade's world-famous peaches and the town's rich history as the Peach Capital of Colorado.
  • Pueblo: Check out the Colorado State Fair from August 28 - September 7. Attendees can visit the rodeo, enjoy live music, access free entertainment and more.
