USDA Announces $765,000 Grant for Rockwood Fire Truck

U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Michigan State Director Dom Restuccia today announced a $765,000 grant to purchase a fire truck for the City of Rockwood in southern Wayne County.

"If nothing else, the cloud of Canadian smoke over Michigan has underlined the importance of giving firefighters equipment necessary to do their job," said Restuccia. "This is yet another example of how the Trump-Vance Department of Agriculture is prioritizing emergency response and protecting our communities."

USDA provided the funds through Rural Development's Community Facilities program , and the grant will be used to purchase an S-180 fire engine to replace the city's 33-year-old engine. The purchase includes lettering, striping, wheel chocks, hard suction, and a hose bed cover for the new fire engine. The city provided $102,925 in additional funding for a total project cost of $867,925.
