State Elections Director Sam Hayes to Host Election Day Press Briefing

North Carolina elections officials will host an in-person and remote news conference at 11 a.m. on Primary Election Day (Tuesday, March 3) to provide information and answer questions about the 2026 primary election in North Carolina.

North Carolina elections officials will host an in-person and remote news conference at 11 a.m. on Primary Election Day (Tuesday, March 3) to provide information and answer questions about the 2026 primary election in North Carolina.

  • What? News conference/media availability. Credentialed media may participate remotely or attend in person.
  • Who? Sam Hayes, executive director, N.C. State Board of Elections
  • When? 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3
  • Where? In-person at the North Carolina State Emergency Operations Center Media Room, 1636 Gold Star Drive, Raleigh, NC 27607

    (Important: If you are a credentialed member of the media and attending in person, you must send an email to [email protected] to be permitted on campus. Please RSVP as soon as possible. You must also show a valid state-issued ID, such as a driver's license, at the gate.

Credentialed media may also join remotely on Microsoft Teams. To get login information, please send an email to [email protected] with your name and media organization.
