Gov. Gianforte Highlights Producers and Manufacturers on 56 County Tour

POLSON, Mont. - Governor Greg Gianforte this week continued his 56 County Tour in Ravalli and Lake counties, meeting with local agricultural producers and manufacturers.

"The 56 County Tour gives me the opportunity to meet with Montanans in every corner of the state," Gov. Gianforte said. "Whether it's the folks who raise the food we eat or the innovators who create products that Montanans use at home, these visits remind me that Montana's greatest strength is our hardworking people."

In Ravalli County, the governor toured GrainMaker Mills, a grain mill manufacturer in Stevensville. Since 1999, Randy and Bonnie Jones have produced mills that can be bought online, at their mercantile, or at trade shows. With 5 employees, the company produces 1,000 mills every year.

"Since we started GrainMaker, our goal has been to ensure people have access to the equipment they need to make high-quality food in their own kitchens," said Bonnie Jones, owner and founder of GrainMaker. "We believe everyone should have the opportunity to create fresh, quality meals at home. It's rewarding to see more people discover the value of making their own food."

Continuing to Lake County, the governor and Montana Department of Agriculture Director Jillien Streit visited with Cathey Cattle Company and G&G Livestock. In 2025, Cathey Cattle Company and G&G Livestock were named the winners of the Region 5 Environmental Stewardship Award from the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. The Montana Stockgrowers Association nominated the ranch for the award for its grazing practices.

"One of my favorite parts about visiting operations around the state is seeing multiple generations working together successfully and profitably," Director Streit said. "It was a pleasure to learn how G&G Livestock and Cathey Cattle Company have diversified their enterprises and leveraged technologies all while growing the next generation."
