Published on May 07, 2025

Denver - Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) and its project partners are celebrating a milestone today - the installation of the first arch that will be a prominent feature of future Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stops along East Colfax Avenue. There will be 32 arches in total. The first one was installed last night on the eastbound BRT station platform at East Colfax Avenue and Franklin Street.

The steel arch is 21 feet tall and 87 feet long, easily seen and recognized from a distance, and providing transit riders a canopy for comfort and shade. See rendering below.

BRT is expected to begin operating on East Colfax Avenue in 2027, offering an all-day, high frequency transit service, a dedicated travel lane in each direction and enhanced rider amenities. The public can sign up to receive regular project updates at www.denvergov.org/colfaxbrt.
