Parade starts at 10 AM.
The City, in partnership with The Peterson Companies and Rio, will host the 24th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade at Rio, located at Rio Boulevard and Grand Corner Avenue. Free parking will be available in three garages along Washingtonian Boulevard.
Dozens of units will march in the parade, including Celtic dancers, bagpipe bands, school groups, fire trucks, equestrian units, service organizations, characters, and more. Dorthy Winder, City of Gaithersburg retiree and the parade's Lead Planner for nearly 15 years, will serve as the Grand Marshal. The parade will be emceed by Carolyn Muller, Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture. After the parade, enjoy the Shamrock Stroll with one-day sales and specials at participating RIO shops and restaurants, plus live music and activities around the lakefront.
Participation in the St. Patrick's Day Parade by groups or organizations other than City of Gaithersburg officials, departments or committees does not constitute City of Gaithersburg endorsement.

Community groups and organizations are invited to join the fun and march in the St. Patrick's Day Parade! It's a fantastic way to engage with the community and showcase your group. Past participants have included Celtic dancers, bagpipe bands, school groups, clowns, fire trucks, equestrian units, service organizations, and more.
IMPORTANT: For the safety of young spectators, please designate responsible individuals to walk along the parade route and hand out candy or free items directly. Tossing or placing candy along the parade route is prohibited, as it may encourage children to run into the street, putting them at risk.
Applications for the 2026 St. Patrick's Day Parade are now closed. Thank you to everyone who registered! If your group is interested in participating next year, please check back in January 2027 for application details.
