Today, Congressman Adrian Smith (NE-03), co-chair of the Congressional Biofuels Caucus and a senior member of the Ways and Means Committee, issued the following statement praising the Treasury Department's release of official guidance for the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Tax Credit:
"During reconciliation, I fought to extend and strengthen the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Tax Credit to empower our biofuel producers and prioritize innovation over arbitrary climate standards. I am grateful for this administration's action in releasing timely official guidance to ensure that America's producers can fully utilize the credit this tax year and in years ahead. Moving forward, I will continue to support policies that expand biofuels markets and unleash more affordable, homegrown American energy."
