On March 4, 2026, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin met with French Ambassador to China Bertrand Lortholary.
Both sides stated that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Emmanuel Macron, China-France relations have maintained steady development over the years. Both sides will follow the common understandings reached between the two heads of state as fundamental guidance, strengthen communication and exchanges, jointly tackle global challenges, and promote world peace and stability.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including the Iranian nuclear issue, the Ukraine crisis, and nuclear arms control.
