Browns Mills, NJ - Deborah Heart and Lung Center's Nuclear Medicine Department received renewed Nuclear/PET accreditation from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), recognizing the department's commitment to exceptional patient care. The accreditation covers Myocardial Perfusion Imaging, Equilibrium Radionuclide Angiography and other Cardiovascular Imaging.
Early detection of life-threatening heart disorders, stroke and other diseases is possible through nuclear cardiology procedures performed in hospitals, outpatient centers and physician offices. Cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in the United States, claims a life every 34 seconds. This statistic highlights the critical role that accredited facilities like Deborah play in providing timely and accurate diagnoses, which can ultimately save lives.
IAC accreditation is a "seal of approval" that patients can rely on as an indicator of consistent quality care and a commitment to continuous improvement. Deborah's Nuclear Medicine Department has proudly maintained this accreditation for over 20 years.
Deborah Heart and Lung Center's Senior Director of Imaging Services, Paul Antonucci, commented, "Congratulations to Denise Kale, Dr. Bullock-Palmer, and the entire Nuclear Medicine Department for earning reaccreditation for another three years. This achievement is a testament to their dedication and ensures that Deborah continues to provide the highest standards of care."
The IAC accreditation process involves a thorough self-evaluation followed by review by a panel of medical experts, ensuring that all operational and technical components meet the highest standards.
Deborah's Director of Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging, Renee Bullock-Palmer, MD, added, "I am incredibly proud of our Nuclear Medicine team. This reaccreditation reflects their dedication and expertise in nuclear cardiology, and our ongoing commitment to offering the best care to our patients."
