ATLANTA - State Representative Katie Dempsey (R-Rome), chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Resources, along with representatives from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) District 6, will provide an informational update regarding the ongoing Second Avenue widening project in Rome on MONDAY, May 11, 2026, from 5 - 6 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers of Rome City Hall.
Congressional District 14 State Transportation Board Member Micah Gravley and Northwest Georgia District 6 Engineer Grant Waldrop, along with other GDOT staff, will share project updates, timelines and current progress information related to the widening project. The presentation will provide the community with the latest information regarding construction progress, anticipated timelines and ongoing work associated with the project.
The presentation will be livestreamed in the same manner as regular Rome City Commission meetings and will be available at: https://www.youtube.com/@cityofromegagov. The regularly scheduled Rome City Commission meeting livestream will begin immediately following the presentation.
