Senator Roger Marshall Announces Big Win for Republic County Hospital

SALINA, KS - After advocacy and support from U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D., the Belleville Medical Clinic, operated by Republic County Hospital, is now approved to serve Medicare and Medicaid patients.

"The Belleville Medical Clinic plays a critical role in delivering healthcare services to the Belleville community. Our office is proud to have helped the clinic clear the final hurdles to continue offering care to patients utilizing Medicare and Medicaid," Senator Marshall said. "As a physician who ran a rural hospital, I understand the challenges these clinics and hospitals face. Ensuring access to care for our communities is my top priority, our team is grateful to have helped fight for the continuation of healthcare access in Republic County.

Republic County Hospital and Belleville Medical Clinic provide care and serve thousands of Kansans. In March, Republic County Hospital took over management of Belleville Medical Clinic, converting it into a Rural Health Clinic. Hospital leadership reached out to Senator Marshall's office for assistance in expediting approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Following an inquiry by Senator Marshall's office, CMS approved the hospital's paperwork, clearing the way for the clinic to process claims and receive payments from CMS.
