City Monitoring Possible Severe Weather for Uncle Sam Jam

The City of Lincoln today announced that Uncle Sam Jam organizers are monitoring the potential for severe thunderstorms Friday, July 3, that may impact the event schedule.

"Ensuring the safety of our community members is our first priority for City-managed outdoor events like Uncle Sam Jam," said Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird. "We are working with the National Weather Service and Lincoln-Lancaster County Emergency Management officials to monitor the need for weather-related contingencies."

City Communications will issue another update around 4 p.m. Friday and will post event updates on the City of Lincoln Facebook account: Facebook.com/lincolnnebraska.

Weather permitting, the schedule for the free event at Haymarket Park, 403 Line Drive Circle, is as follows:

  • 6 p.m. - Ballpark opens
  • 6:45 p.m. - Veterans recognition program
  • 7:15 p.m. - Live music begins
  • 8:25 p.m. - Flag lowering ceremony
  • 10 p.m. - Fireworks display
