Conversations with Artists: What Were They Thinking

The Visual Art League of Lewisville (VAL) presents Conversations with Artists: What Were They Thinking on Sunday, Aug. 9, 3-5 p.m., at Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.

This informal and inspiring "chat" session in the Art Gallery will feature VAL members in the Small Works exhibition talking about their art. Attendees will learn about the meaning, inspiration, and materials used in those works. This is an opportunity for members and guests to ask questions and make a genuine connection with artists in the community.

The Small Works exhibit runs through Saturday, Aug. 15. The Art Gallery at the Lewisville Grand Theater is open to the public Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and during public events. Exhibitions are always free to visit.

Visual Art League of Lewisville is one of ten local groups receiving funding from the City of Lewisville through a grant program designed to foster cultural and fine arts in the community.

The Grand is Lewisville's home for the arts. It presents a variety of regional and national touring performers, art exhibits, and classes, while also giving the many arts groups in the greater Lewisville area a facility to perform and display their works. Its multiple performance spaces play host to a variety of events including live music, theater, dance performances, comedy shows, and more. The center features the 294-seat Huffines Performance Hall, black box theater, recital hall, art gallery, and courtyard.

To reach The Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. The Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center. Please be aware that there is heavy road construction at the Main Street interchange with I-35E that will cause delays.

For details about upcoming events, or rental information for the facility, please visit LewisvilleGrand.com or call 972.219.8446.

This program supports the "Old Town" Big Move in the Lewisville 2025 vision plan. The full plan can be viewed online at cityoflewisville.com/lewisville2025.
