Kaiser Permanente Health Plans earn high ratings

  • All plans are HMOs except where noted.

"These ratings reflect our dedication to providing high-quality care and service, which is what our Medicare members expect and deserve," said Andrew Bindman, MD, executive vice president and chief medical officer for Kaiser Permanente. "Our value-based approach ensures we consistently provide care that's both grounded in the latest evidence and tailored to our members' needs."

Kaiser Permanente provides care to more than 1.9 million Medicare members in 8 states and the District of Columbia.

"We're proud of our highly skilled doctors, nurses, and clinicians for providing world-class care," said Letitia Bridges, MD, executive vice president and chief quality officer for The Permanente Federation. "These ratings highlight our commitment to providing coordinated, timely care that ensures high-quality outcomes for our patients and members."

What the CMS ratings measure

CMS evaluates several key areas to determine star ratings:

  • How well health plans help members stay healthy
  • How well plans manage ongoing health conditions
  • Member experiences
  • Customer service
  • Access to care
  • Pharmacy services
