East Wendover Avenue Lane Closures Underway

Two eastbound lanes of the 1700 block of East Wendover Avenue from the bridge at Highway 29 to Gatewood Avenue are closed due to an eight-inch water main break. Five water customers are without service.

City crews will be on-site until repairs are completed, the lanes reopened, and service is restored, which is expected by 8 pm tonight. Signs and traffic cones are in place, and motorists are urged to use alternate routes to avoid the area. See the map below for the location.

If you notice discoloration or cloudy water coming from your tap after the repairs, run cold water for a few minutes through a faucet without an aerator, such as an outside spigot or bathtub, until clear.
