Placer/Nevada Counties - Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane and ramp closures in multiple locations along Interstate 80 (I-80) as several projects continue in Placer and Nevada counties.
Motorists will experience delays with each project. If traveling across the entire corridor, the cumulative delay may reach up to two hours depending on traffic volumes. Caltrans encourages motorists to factor in additional travel times along the I-80 Sierra corridor and check

Eastbound I-80

Blue Canyon Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Applegate and Weimar, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, August 23 through Thursday, August 27. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 6 a.m. Friday, August 28.

Between Cape Horn and Magra, various lane closures are scheduled from 6 p.m. to midnight Sunday, August 23.

Near Gold Run, various ramp closures are scheduled from 6 p.m. Thursday, August 27 to 6 a.m. Friday, August 28.

Near Alta, various ramp closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. Sunday, August 23 to 6 a.m. Monday, August 24.

Between Monte Vista/Dutch Flat and Drum Forebay, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. Sunday, August 23 to 11 a.m. Friday, August 28.

Crystal Springs on- and off-ramps are closed until further notice. Motorists will detour eastbound to Baxter and return westbound on I-80 to Crystal Springs.

Drum Forebay on- and off-ramps are closed until further notice. Motorists will detour eastbound to the next available exit and return westbound on I-80 to Drum Forebay.

Drum Forebay Drainage Restoration Project near the Whitmore Maintenance Station, various lane closures scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, August 24 through Wednesday, August 26.

Between the Whitmore Maintenance Station and Emigrant Gap, various lane closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, August 23 through Thursday, August 27. Work is also scheduled from 10 p.m. Friday, August 28 to 7 a.m. Saturday, August 29.

One-way traffic control is scheduled around the clock from 6 a.m. Monday, August 24 to noon Friday, August 28.

Closed for concrete pour from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 25.

Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project eastbound I-80 off-ramp to State Route 20 (SR 20) is scheduled to be closed from 6 a.m. Tuesday, August 25 to 6 a.m. Sunday, August 30. This closure is tentatively scheduled to continue for the following week, reopening in early September. Motorists will detour along eastbound I-80 to Eagle Lakes Road, then head back westbound on I-80 and take the off-ramp to westbound SR 20.

Drum Forebay Drainage Restoration Project near Rainbow, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, August 24 through Wednesday, August 26.

Emergency Culvert/Rockfall Project between Floriston and Hinton Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, August 24 through Thursday, August 27.

Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Soda Springs and Troy, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. Monday, August 24 to noon Friday, August 28.

Drum Forebay Drainage Restoration Project near Rainbow, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, August 24 through Thursday, August 27.

Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project, westbound I-80 off-ramp at Yuba Gap is closed until further notice due to the crossover in place. Motorists will detour westbound to the Emigrant Gap exit and return eastbound on I-80 to Yuba Gap.

Work is scheduled to end for the week at 6 a.m. Friday, August 28.

I-80 MMBN Project between Applegate and Clipper Gap, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, August 24 through Friday, August 28. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 5 a.m. Saturday, August 29.
The extended lane closures will help minimize the duration of construction and improve worker safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
