With support from the AMETEK Foundation, AMETEK France team members participate in mentoring programs, workshops, and school visits to share their professional journeys and support Elles Bougent's mission to encourage young girls to pursue careers as engineers and technicians.
Employee involvement plays a crucial role in the success of Elles Bougent's programs that inspire girls to envision themselves in STEM careers. AMETEK France team members have raised their hands to provide relatable role models that girls can aspire to.
Encouraging the next generation of STEM leaders starts with role models and opportunity. That belief is at the heart of Elles Bougent, a non-profit organization based in Nanterre, France, that is dedicated to inspiring young girls to pursue careers in engineering, technology, and industrial fields-sectors where women remain underrepresented.
In France in particular, women represent only 24% of engineers. Faced with this reality, Elles Bougent works alongside a network of mentors, partners, and schools to dismantle gender stereotypes and broaden understanding of what is possible in STEM careers. With support from partners like AMETEK France, this mission is being brought to life in impactful ways.
AMETEK France was inspired to support Elles Bougent because of the organization's powerful STEM mission and shared commitment to inclusion. With matching funds from the AMETEK Foundation, AMETEK France's team members have established an ongoing partnership with Elles Bougent to demystify careers in engineering and technology.
During a recent visit to the AMETEK France Customer Solutions Center, 25 middle school students were welcomed for an immersive experience through Elles Bougent. AMETEK colleagues introduced the students to our company, businesses, and technologies. Our team members led discussions about career opportunities and facilitated hands-on technology demonstrations.
"I was happy to be able to share my career path and lead workshops for the students to show them that scientific careers are accessible to everyone," shared Rachida, a Sales Engineer for Atlas Materials Testing Solutions. "Their questions, curiosity, and the genuine interest they showed during our discussions deeply touched me and reinforced how meaningful this initiative truly is."
"Partnerships with companies like AMETEK France are essential to our mission," said Isabelle Huet, Directrice Générale at Elles Bougent. "By sharing their expertise and opening their workplaces, their teams help make STEM careers tangible and accessible for young girls. These moments of exchange and discovery play a key role in breaking stereotypes and inspiring the next generation of women engineers, technicians, and technology leaders."
With enthusiasm, AMETEK France colleagues are helping bring Elles Bougent's mission to life-opening doors, expanding horizons, and inspiring the innovators of tomorrow.
