I-229 Double-Decker Bridge in St. Joseph now open
St. Joseph, Mo. - The Double-Decker Bridge on Interstate 229, along the west side of St. Joseph, is now open. The Missouri Department of Transportation reopened the bridge and all ramps between U.S. Route 36 and Highland Avenue this afternoon, Wednesday, Sept. 30, following maintenance and a biannual bridge inspection.
The bridge was reopened early due to the weather. Crews plan to return the week of October 12-16 to complete inspection of the on- and off-ramps. More information, including ramp closure timing, will be shared once it becomes available.
