NOTICE OF ADOPTED AND FILED REGULATIONS OF THE ALASKA STATE MEDICAL BOARD

On February 26, 2026, the State Medical Board adopted regulations in Title 12, Chapter 40 of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations concern standards of practice for the use of buprenorphine to treat opioid use disorder via telemedicine.

The regulations were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor on June 4, 2026, and are effective on July 4, 2026. Attached is a copy of the filed regulations.

The regulation changes will first appear in Register 259, October 2026, of the Alaska Administrative Code.
