BACKGROUND

In April 2025, PacifiCorp filed tariff documents with the commission to update its electric service. The company described the filing as a power cost only rate case (PCORC), which adjusts power costs and removes coal-related expenses from customer rates. This filing was required under a previous commission order in Docket UE-230172.

In PacifiCorp's filing, revenues could increase around $33.9 million, or 7.9%. An average residential household using 1,200 kilowatt-hours a month would see a $10.43 bill increase. If approved, the updated rates would take effect Jan. 1, 2026. The commission scheduled this public hearing to give customers a chance to comment on the proposal.
