35 Days Overdue: Where Are The Epstein Files? Arrow

Over one month after Donald Trump's Justice Department was legally required to release all of the Epstein Files, the Trump administration has failed to comply with the law and has released less than ONE PERCENT of the files - a majority of which were incomplete, heavily redacted, or had already been made public through previous disclosures.

Trump and his DOJ have delayed the release of the files for months - despite the House and Senate voting almost unanimously to make them public - providing endless excuses while denying long-overdue justice for Epstein's victims and transparency for the American people. Congressional Republicans have all but forgotten about the Epstein Files, with one House Republican even saying, "I don't give a rip about Epstein."

The Justice Department was mandated to release the files on December 19th, and just recently, they said that more than 2 million files are in "various phases of review and redaction." Government lawyers have asked for multiple extensions, the most recent of which would extend the deadline to release the files nearly 2 months past when they were initially mandated to do so - and prosecutors recently indicated that they still don't know when the files will be released.

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

"How much longer will Donald Trump stonewall the release of the Epstein files? More than a month has passed since Trump and his Justice Department were legally required to release them, while Epstein's victims continue to beg for the truth. Instead, Trump is choosing to break the law to protect pedophiles, save himself from embarrassment, and deny justice and transparency to Epstein's victims and the American people. Trump has made it clear he will do anything to protect the rich and powerful - and Americans have had enough. Trump's DOJ must release the full Epstein files now."

Trump has repeatedly called the Epstein Files a "Democratic Hoax," a "scam," and "bullshit" - despite survivors of Epstein's crimes saying, "This is not a hoax. What we endured was real."

In an interview with Vanity Fair last month, Trump's Chief of Staff Susie Wiles admitted "We know he's in the file," adding that Trump "was on [Epstein's] plane…he's on the manifest." Wiles described Trump and Epstein as "young, single, whatever-I know it's a passé word but sort of young, single playboys together." Further reporting described Trump and Epstein's bond as "intense enough to leave others who knew them with the impression that they were each other's closest friend" and described Epstein as Trump's "most reliable wingman."

A recent poll found that only 6% of Americans are satisfied with the amount of information the DOJ has released, and two-thirds believe that the government is intentionally withholding the files - including over 40% of Republicans.
