Undersecretary Silli’s mission to Florida for meetings with the Italian Community

Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Giorgio Silli undertook an official mission to Florida from 13 to 14 January for a series of meetings with the Italian community and Italian businesses.

In Miami, Silli participated in a meeting with the local COMITES (Committee of Italians Abroad) and met with honorary consular staff under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General. He also engaged with representatives from associations of the Italian community-now exceeding 63,000 residents and continuing to grow-as well as members of the education sector, the National Carabinieri Association in Miami, retired officers, the NIAF (National Italian American Foundation, Florida chapter), volunteer groups, and Italian religious and missionary communities active in the Southeastern United States. "The Government closely follows and supports these representative bodies of our community abroad," commented the Undersecretary, highlighting the vital and historical contribution of Italian migration to the socio-economic development of Florida and the United States.

During his visit, Silli also toured key production facilities of Italian companies specialising in recreational boating, including those of the Ferretti Group and Genesis Interior, both leaders in their sector.
