The Art Gallery at the University of West Florida presents "TAGGED." Serving as an opportunity for a broader group of students to exhibit artwork in a professional environment, "TAGGED" is an annual juried exhibition open for submission to all UWF students. "TAGGED" will run from March 5-12, with an opening ceremony and awards presentation on March 5 from 5-7 p.m.
Achieved through collaboration between the UWF Department of Art and Design and The Art Gallery (TAG), "TAGGED" intends to exhibit student work from throughout the UWF student community and allow students to experience best practices in displaying their work publicly.
"The TAGGED exhibition brings an added level of excitement to The Art Gallery each year," says Gallery Director Stasha Willis. "Not only is this exhibition open to all students, but it is also the moment when our senior gallery intern puts months of mentorship into practice as they step into the role of exhibition designer. The reception also serves as an award ceremony, where TAG and the Department of Art and Design look forward to bringing the community together to celebrate our students through the conferral of the TAGGED juried awards, department achievement awards, a people's choice award, and community-sponsored scholarships and exhibition opportunities."
TAG at UWF seeks to challenge, stimulate and engage students and the greater public through direct interaction with modern and contemporary artworks. UWF and the surrounding communities can visit TAG in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Building 82 on the Pensacola campus, to view the exhibition. TAG is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday during scheduled exhibition dates and observes all UWF closures and holidays. All events are free and open to the public.
