Fredericksburg, Texas - After a successful summer season, the City ofFredericksburg's Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park Pool and Coach Tony Knopp TownPool will soon change operating hours due to a lack of lifeguard availability.
In total, Fredericksburg's swimming pools have welcomed 15,578 visitors during the 2025 summer season through Sunday, Aug. 3. The City is able to operate these facilities thanks toa part-time staff of 29 lifeguards and five cashiers.
The Park Pool, located insideLady Bird Johnson Municipal Park at 432 Lady Bird Dr., will be closed for the season after Sunday, Aug. 10. The park pool's hours are currently Wednesday-Monday1-6:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the days of operation will move to Saturday and Sunday only at Town Pool, after Sunday, Aug.10. The facility is located at 105 W. Travis St. and is currently openTuesday-Sunday, 1-6:30 p.m. Its final day for the season is on Sunday, Aug 31.
The town's Splashpad located along West Schubert Street, adjacent to the Town Pool, will continue to be opensix days a week, Tuesday-Sunday. The Splashpad's hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.Tuesday-Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. The Splashpad's final dayfor the season will be Sunday, Sept. 28. Entry to the Splashpad is free, while guests have access to the restrooms at Town Pool during the hours of operation.
