HACU hosts 31st Annual National Capitol Forum, April 21-22, 2026, in Washington, D.C.

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced the agenda for its 31st Annual National Capitol Forum on Higher Education taking place on April 21-22, 2026, in Washington, D.C. The agenda for the HSInnovators student track has also been announced and features advocacy training, a pitch competition, and meetings with elected officials.

The Capitol Forum's first day features the following four pre-conference sessions:

  • The View from the Hill: Legislative and Budget Updates
  • DACA and Immigration Policy: Implications for Higher Education
  • Legal Landscape Update for Hispanic-Serving Institutions
  • Building Power Through Partnership

The Capitol Forum general sessions include an Opening Plenary, "This Is the Moment HSIs Lead," and an Afternoon Plenary, "No Quotas, Real Impact: Setting the Record Straight." All Capitol Forum attendees will participate in a HACU Legislative Agenda briefing and a breakout session by states in preparation for Congressional visits.

The second day of the Forum features a Breakfast Plenary, "Advocating for HSIs," followed by Capitol Hill visits with members of Congress. The Forum concludes with a Capitol Hill Reception.

The HSInnovators student track agenda features two pre-conference sessions, "Successfully Advocating for HSIs" and "HSInnovators Pitch Competition." Student participants will also attend all three plenaries and take part in Capitol Hill visits.
