Pavement Preservation Project to Begin on State Route 35 in San Francisco County

Work to begin the week of September 7th

San Mateo County ― Caltrans will begin a pavement preservation project on State Route 35 (Skyline Boulevard) from the San Mateo County line to Sloat Boulevard in the City and County of San Francisco. The project will extend the life of the existing pavement, repair areas of failed pavement, and improve ride quality for motorists traveling in both directions.

These improvements will help maintain the roadway, enhance safety, and support a smoother, more reliable travel experience for all roadway users.

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of September 7 and continue through mid-October. Work will begin on September 9 at 8 p.m. on SR-35, beginning on southbound Sloat Blvd and progressing south through the corridor.

Throughout the duration of the project, work will take place during nighttime and daytime hours, depending on the direction of travel and the work being performed.

Tentative Work Schedule:

• Northbound: 8 p.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays
• Southbound: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays

Detours and traffic control measures will be in place as needed. Additional work, closures, and detour information will be communicated to the traveling public ahead of construction activities.
