Private, public sectors join hands to celebrate Armed Forces Day

At the Cabinet's weekly meeting Thursday, Premier Cho Jung-tai received a Ministry of Economic Affairs report on plans for 2026 Armed Forces Day (September 3) events and activities. The premier thanked the companies, retailers and government ministries and agencies participating in this year's campaign, applauding the growing number of commercial districts, night markets, traditional markets and micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) nationwide joining the effort. With 640 brands and more than 22,000 stores taking part, the campaign will extend appreciation and support for military personnel into communities throughout Taiwan, encouraging people from all walks of life to participate.

In addition to the expansion of discounts and benefits for military personnel, the premier said this year's activities will also include visual displays, interactive educational exhibits, talent recruitment booths, and opportunities for military-civilian engagement. The aim is to deepen the public's awareness and appreciation of national defense and the work of the armed forces, bringing the public and military closer together through interaction and building solidarity through understanding.

The premier said the series of Armed Forces Day activities on and around September 3 demonstrate the government's concrete commitment to supporting the military. He expressed hope that the activities will foster a spirit of respect and support, with the public fully standing behind the armed forces and the armed forces protecting and caring for the people.
