Construction resumes next week on SH-75 in Ketchum

KETCHUM- Starting Monday the Idaho Transportation Department will resume construction on State Highway 75 at the Trail Creek Bridge in Ketchum to accommodate growing traffic volumes in the Wood River Valley.

During construction, motorists can expect:

  • Work will occur Monday through Friday 6 a.m. - 10 p.m.; Saturdays 7:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Sundays 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Southbound Trail Creek Bridge traffic will be detoured to Second Avenue.
  • One lane will remain open in each direction on SH-75 between Elkhorn Road and the Trail Creek Bridge.
  • Speed limits will be reduced to 25 mph.

In 2026, crews will:

  • Construct the west half of the Trail Creek Bridge.
  • Improve the intersection of SH-75 and Elkhorn Road.
  • Complete improvements to SH-75 between Elkhorn Road and Weyyakin Drive.
  • Widen SH-75 between Weyyakin Drive and River Street.
  • Improve the intersection of SH-75 and Serenade Lane.

Work last year ITD expanded SH-75 to four lanes from Elkhorn Road to Trail Creek Bridge. Due to cold weather, some of the paving near the bridge was temporary pavement to allow traffic to flow during the winter. This requires ITD to repave that section with permanent pavement. In spring, SH-75 from Tail Creek Bridge to River Street will be expanded to four lanes. Construction is expected to be completed in early 2027.
