Sociable City Assessment Outlines Strengths and Needs for Downtown Vibrancy

The worst-kept secret in the South is that Raleigh is a great place to work, live, and play. We hear it so often, it sounds more like a slogan or a bumper sticker rather than a consensus opinion.

But it's true. Last year, 18.5 million visitors spent $3.2 billion in Raleigh. With those sorts of numbers, the Raleigh City Council allocated $100,000 in January for a Sociable City Assessment. The report analyzed the strengths, challenges, and opportunities within the social economy of the Fayetteville Street and Glenwood South districts.

The Council referred the report to City staff who will review and report back to Council.
