The City of West Des Moines will host the Community Engagement Institute (CEI) in spring 2026. The program provides residents with an opportunity to learn about local government operations and engage directly with City leadership. CEI welcomes residents from all backgrounds who are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of City services, asking questions, and sharing input on community priorities.
The seven-week program features interactive, two-hour sessions held weekly from April 8th to May 20th, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Residents are encouraged to apply online by Wednesday, April 1st, as space is limited to 20 participants.
Connect directly with City leaders through this engaging program. You'll learn more about City programs and services, tour City facilities, and have a meaningful platform to offer ideas and feedback that support a diverse and growing community.
Director of West Des Moines Human Services Audrey Kennis said "The Community Engagement Institute (CEI) fosters open dialogue and collaboration between residents and City officials. Past participants found the program highly informative and impactful, and its growing popularity shows the value residents place on this experience."
