Care Messenger Wins Digital Revolution Award

Care Messenger Holdings Ltd has won the Digital Revolution Award at the British Chambers of Commerce Chamber Business Awards 2026.

The Chamber Business Awards recognise and celebrate business excellence through the successes and achievements of members of the Chamber of Commerce network.

Care Messenger, a member of North East Chamber of Commerce, was recognised for Chatta TV, a digital communication platform designed to connect older and vulnerable people with families and care providers through their televisions.

The platform overlays messages and video calls onto live television, without requiring the user to navigate a smartphone, tablet, menu or app. Following an independent evaluation by the Scottish Digital Health Institute, Chatta TV has been installed in every room across South Lanarkshire Council's care homes. It is also being deployed across 420 rooms by Dutch care provider Vilente and has secured international contracts in Costa Rica.

Independent evaluation found that 80% of residents felt more connected to their families and better informed about life within their care home. Participating families said they found the system easy to use and effective in reducing loneliness, while carers reported better communication, confidence and social engagement.

Shevaun Haviland, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, said:

"Care Messenger has used technology to tackle digital exclusion in a way that is practical, accessible and centred on people's needs. Chatta TV turns a familiar household device into a simple connection with families and care providers. Its growing adoption at home and overseas demonstrates the commercial and social potential of thoughtful digital innovation."

Paul Slaughter, CEO of Care Messenger Holdings, said:

"We are proud to receive the Digital Revolution Award. Chatta TV was created to ensure older and vulnerable people are not left behind by digital change. This recognition reflects years of development, testing and partnership working, but this isn't the end of the story, we plan to take simple, inclusive communication to more families and care settings."
