Inquest into the Death of Rattanbir Sidhu Announced

Dr. Kenneth Peckham, Regional Supervising Coroner, Central Region, Central West Office, announced today that an inquest will be held into the death of Rattanbir Sidhu.

Mr. Sidhu, 23 years old, died on May 7, 2019, at Halton Health Care Services, Milton Site, after being transferred from Maplehurst Correctional Complex. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Sidhu's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
