PhRMA also launches AmericasMedicines.com at annual PhRMA Forum
WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 17, 2026) - Today, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) launched America Cures, a new campaign underscoring why U.S. leadership in biopharmaceutical innovation matters now more than ever. The campaign highlights how our leadership in medicine development supports the fastest access to breakthrough treatments in the world, millions of high-paying American jobs and stronger national security.
"Global competition is intensifying. The launch of America Cures makes clear what's at stake at this defining moment for U.S. leadership in medicine-and why it matters for American patients, jobs and our national security," said Stephen J. Ubl, President and CEO of PhRMA. "America's leading edge didn't happen by accident. It was built by smart, bipartisan policy choices and decades of sustained investment."
New survey research from Ipsos underscores why our leadership in medicine matters to every American:
The campaign launched ahead of today's PhRMA Forum 2026: Strengthening American Leadership, a half-day event focused on the policies needed to ensure the United States remains the world's leader in developing and delivering innovative medicines to patients. The forum will feature discussions with top thought leaders including global biopharmaceutical CEOs, leading voices in health care disruption and AI as well as senior Trump Administration officials.
"At PhRMA Forum, leaders from government, industry and the patient community will focus on what it will take to protect that leadership and ensure the United States continues to develop cures for the world's toughest diseases," Ubl continued.
Today, PhRMA also launched AmericasMedicines.com, a new search tool that expands access to lower-cost medicines available through manufacturer direct purchase and patient support programs, simplifying the health care experience. Direct purchase and patient assistance programs help Americans afford innovative medicines, even as middlemen inflate costs and restrict access. According to Ipsos, nearly four in five (77%) insured Americans are interested in purchasing medicines from these platforms.
